Winner of the Heini Ziegler Award

Corbett Fire Names Rebecca Gandy as Winner of the Heini Ziegler Award for Community Service

Each year the Corbett Fire Department awards the Heini Ziegler Award to a member of the community because of their outstanding volunteer work in the Corbett area. The award is named after Heini Ziegler who was a long time Chief of the Department and was active in several community organizations. People in the community nominate candidates and the Corbett Fire Department selects the winner.

The winner of the award this year is Rebecca Gandy who has been active in several community groups. When her daughters were younger she was active in the Corbett Children’s Theater. She has been the secretary for the The Crown Point Historical Society and has been the Chair for the online fundraising auction. Additionally, she has served as a Board Member of Grange #267 for six years.

Rebecca resides in the Corbett area where she has her business; Gandy Legal Services. Heine Ziegler would appreciate the fact that Rebecca is described as being a “terrific line dancer”.

Rebecca will be recognized at the Corbett Fire Department Open House on October 8, 2022 at the Corbett Fire Station. At noon on October 8, she will be presented with a gift certificate for a dinner at Multnomah Falls Lodge as well as the gratitude of the Corbett Fire Department.
